Product Overview
Flexible Intermediate Bulk containers, known in the industry as bulk bags or FIBCs, are large fabric containers used to store and transport dry, flowable materials. They are made from 100% virgin woven polypropylene and hold between 100 and 4,500 pounds.
Compared to rigid drums or wooden pallets, bulk bags take up less space, weigh significantly less, and cost less per unit. They collapse flat when empty, which reduces return freight costs and storage footprint.
At InterBULK, every bag is built to your specification. We work with you to choose the right construction style, filling method, and discharge type for your product and your equipment.
Why Bulk Bags
We specify every bag to your dimensions, loop type, fabric weight, liner, and coating. There is no standard bag we ask you to work around.
Our bags are rated from 100 to 4,500 pounds safe working load, covering light chemical bags through to heavy aggregate and mineral applications.
Form-fit and loose polypropylene or polyethylene liners are available for products that need moisture protection or are sensitive to contamination.
BRC, GFSI, FDA, CFIA, Halal, and Kosher certifications are available. Full lot traceability comes standard on every order.
We hold inventory in warehouses across the United States and Canada. Most orders ship the same day or next day from our nearest location to you.
Hazardous material transport bags are available. All UN bags meet PHMSA and international transport regulations for dangerous goods.
Construction
Both styles are available with any top and bottom panel combination. The choice between them comes down to your material, your budget, and your filling conditions.
Made on a circular loom, this style produces a seamless fabric tube with no vertical seams in the body of the bag. Fewer seams mean a lower risk of leakage, which makes it a good choice for fine or powdery products where containment is a priority.
Best for: fine powders, chemicals, food ingredients, pharmaceuticals.
A single U-shaped piece of fabric forms the base and two sides of the bag. Two additional panels complete the structure. U-panel bags are cost-effective, produce less material waste during manufacturing, and work well across a broad range of applications.
Best for: granular materials, agricultural products, minerals, construction products.
Top Panel
The right top panel depends on how your filling equipment loads material and how much control you need over dust and spillage during filling.
A narrow circular spout is sewn into the top panel. The bag fills through the spout, which ties off to seal the opening after loading. Good for controlled, dust-free filling.
A wide fabric collar extends above the top of the bag and folds down to tie off for closure. Used where wide access is needed during filling or when spout connections are not available.
No filling mechanism, just an open top panel. Simple and lower cost. Best for products loaded by conveyor, gravity feed, or wide-mouth spout where dust control is not a requirement.
A tapered funnel directs material to the center of the bag during filling. Works well for coarse materials that need to be centered to prevent uneven loading and bag distortion.
Bottom Panel
A fabric spout at the bottom center opens for controlled discharge. The spout ties off during filling and storage, then opens when the bag is ready to empty. The most common discharge option.
The same as a standard spout bottom, with an outer fabric cover added for security. The cover prevents accidental opening and keeps the spout clean during transport and storage.
Custom Options
Conical bottoms, full open bottoms, and custom discharge designs are available. If your filling or discharge equipment has specific requirements, contact us and we will specify accordingly.
Nine international certifications. Every lot is traceable. Full documentation is available with every order.
